Andrea Giomi. Sound artist, performer and scholar. He is a post-doctoral fellow at the University of Grenoble-Alpes's Performance Lab. He holds a Ph.D. in Music and Performing Arts from both Côte d'Azur University of Nice and Alma Mater University of Bologna. His research focuses on embodied music cognition, motion-sensing technologies, human-computer interaction, aesthetics of digital arts and phenomenology of perception. In his work, he aims to develop and interlace three axes of analysis: theoretical, aesthetic and practice-based. As artist, his major interests involve improvisational processes in electroacoustic live music and the emergent relations between bodies, sound and technological environments. He is co-founder and sound designer of Kokoschka Revival collective. He presented his artistic work at many international festivals like Inner Spaces/Auditorium San Fedele (Milan, IT), Tempo Reale Festival (Florence, IT), aCROSS Festival (Plaisir, FR), Festival Manca (Nice, FR), MIRA Festival (Barcelona, ES), Festival Polline and LPM (Rome, IT), NAO Performing Festival (Milan, IT). He is also involved in electronic music production, particularly techno, ambient and avant-garde. His music is currently released on RXSTNZ and Syntheke Records.
